Reader Question: Unfamiliar with Oikospiel

Ephemeral Enigmas asks: Can you tell me about Oikospiel? That's the one game on your list I'm not familiar with (great list, by the way!), so I'd be curious to know more.
note: the list this question is referring to was an image containing a 5x5 grid of my top 25 favorite games, of which Oikospiel was included.
I've got great news about Oikospiel – if you've bought basically any indie bundle from itch at all within the last couple years (all those social justice bundles, etc.) you already own it and can play it right now! My experience with the game was deciding to pop it on after picking up one of those bundles and having my world rocked immediately and irreversibly. It's one of the most thoughtful, goofy, angry, intelligent, personal (relating to the creator), personal (relating to the player), absurd video games I've ever played, which needs to be a video game more than any other game I've ever played. Yes, more than UNDERTALE, more than Metal Gear Solid 2, more than any other game you can think of. It is the single-most holistic work of art I think I've ever interfaced with my life (needs to be fact checked). It preys on so many aspects of culture that are too young to be taken for granted and too old to be questioned. This is someone who is uniquely skilled in so many fields and so learned in the history of them deciding to let out what feels like every single thought they've ever had, and each one is relayed delicately, aggressively, cleverly, ridiculously, and yet perfectly cohesive. It's only a matter of time before it's regularly touted as one of most important indie games ever made, and I'm not exaggerating. This is what it means to be a "dog opera."
